At lunchtime on 23rd February, the Scottish Chambers of Commerce, in partnership with the Consul General of India is hosting a round table discussion for businesses in Scotland interested in Green Hydrogen, tying in with the Federation of India Chambers of Commerce & Industry Green Hydrogen Summit.
In liaison with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy in India, we are inviting businesses in Scotland to present to the senior officials, who will be joining us online, to talk about the significant potential in Green Hydrogen.
Why India?
The Government of India is committed to a net zero target with a strategic plan to have 50% non-fossil fuel energy sources by 2030. The Government is committed to bringing in expertise from around the world to help with this and their main focus is on Green Hydrogen to help meet the growing energy demand but. They’ve expressed an interest in utilising the knowledge of companies in Scotland to do this, along with understanding about the energy transition taking place in Scotland and the challenges and opportunities – from production, distribution and transportation.
The size of India’s economy makes it an attractive market for Scottish exporters. India has a range of exciting opportunities across a large number of sectors, although success in this market can require patience and a longer-term approach.
